About
DAN*NA (Artificial Nature S.L.), founded in Barcelona in 2017, is a deep-tech advanced materials company developing PLH, a patented bio-based polymer platform with industrial-grade performance.
PLH is a versatile polymer technology designed to replace and enhance fossil-derived materials, enabling high-performance solutions either as standalone bioplastics or as a reactive precursor for advanced resin systems, including epoxy and UV-curable resins. This dual functionality allows PLH to bridge thermoplastics and reactive materials within a single, scalable platform.
DAN*NA operates from the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) and is supported by a multidisciplinary team with extensive experience in polymer science, materials engineering and industrial innovation, focused on bringing economically competitive, sustainable materials to market.
The Spanish government has recognized DAN*NA as an Innovative SME for its R&D activity, and the company has received multiple acknowledgements for its technological and environmental impact, reinforcing its position as a key player in next-generation sustainable materials.
The PLH polymer has been validated for biodegradation under industrial composting conditions (ISO 14855), is designed to be recyclable, and has been successfully scaled to multi-ton production, with manufacturing carried out in Germany, confirming its industrial applicability and readiness.
Thanks to its high purity, biocompatibility and multifunctional properties, PLH addresses demanding applications across AgriTech, healthcare, cosmetics, food-contact and microelectronics (biosensors), supporting sectors that require both performance and sustainability.
DAN*NA focus areas include:
-
Advanced bioplastics for AgriTech and microelectronics
-
Bioresins for coatings, adhesives and functional applications
-
Biocompatible materials for healthcare and cosmetic uses
Mission
Lead the world’s transition to sustainable materials
